If you are already a subscriber to Simpletivity, you probably already know that I'm a big advocate of waking up early in the morning.
Waking up bright and early so I can do things such as exercise, meditate, journal, read, or maybe just get a head start on my email.
It's a great motivational tool for the rest of my day.
By getting important things done first thing, it gives me the energy and the motivation to accomplish even bigger things or to handle bigger challenges later in my day.
Well, there's something else that's really a big key to my morning, and it should be a big key to yours as well, and that's breakfast.
Eating a big, healthy breakfast, having enough fuel, having enough energy to have the most productive and effective day that you can.
Answer this question for me: do you typically need a piece of cutlery to consume your breakfast in the morning?
Do you need a knife, fork, or spoon to eat your breakfast?
If you answered no, I would question how big of a breakfast you may be eating, and you may not be filling yourself with enough energy to have the most effective day that you could.
You wouldn't head out on a road trip with your gas tank near empty, now would you?
You'd make sure that you have enough fuel to get to your end destination.
Well, today you've got an end destination that is full of meetings, full of phone calls, full of important work and tasks that you need to accomplish.
Make sure you have enough fuel in the tank so that you can get to that finish line, so that you can be at your productive best.
A big yellow bird once told me that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and I believe it.
Not just because I watched it on Sesame Street, no, I believe it because study after study continues to show that breakfast is indeed the most important meal of the day.
You need that energy, you need that fuel after a long night's sleep to catapult you through the rest of your day.
So eat a big breakfast.
Make sure you've got the fuel that you need.
It's very simple.
